Corbinian Böhm and Michael Gruber form the artist duo Empfangshalle. They concentrate in their work on the complex structures of public life. With a casual attitude that is just as extraordinary as it is matter-of-course, a garbage truck becomes an art project, a large Asian poster is used to adorn a Western European city, a cream cake the venue for urban development planning. This book accompanies Empfangshalles contribution to the Biennale d’Arte di Venezia in 2007, bringing together the artists’ most important works from the last few years. A magazine-like layout complemented by advertisements, along with an edition that uses an actual poster as cover make this an exceptional documentation.
