The main focus of the 4th F/Stop festival revolves around the topic “In the hidden: from 5 pm to 5 am“ – pictures of human existence. While humans experience the daytime consciously and spend the day with various phases of action, perception changes in the early evening hours, the final hours of the day seem to be experience more consciously and another level of reflection appears: the unconscious, as a hidden zone of the mind, brings forth interaction with incidences, conflicts, feelings and desires. How can discontent, fear, taciturnity or helplessness, as well as happiness, abandon, or passion be expressed in photographic pictures? The publication shows the possible experiences that you can be exposed to when you are active at night, can’t sleep or simply capture the sensitized perception of that time of day. These aren’t illustrated pictures but rather photographs that offer their viewers the possible to regard them as pictures and learn from them.
