In their recent work, NEWS, Julian Rosefeldt and Piero Steinle look at the reality theater presented by television news shows, a strange hybrid between authentic events and image patterns constructed to fit the demands of the medium. Stereotyped turns of phrase and gestures and recurring imagery with its schematic underpinnings expose here the redundancy behind broadcast news.
